7 Things You Should Read About Badges from EDUCAUSE

Posted on: August 30th, 2013 by annek

Badges represent a way of acknowledging achievements or skill acquisition more granular than a college degree. The resources below provide an overview of the uses of badges and their implications for how individual accomplishments can be awarded, recognized, and shared.

The 7 Things You Should Read About… series from the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI) is a curated set of resources on topics important to the teaching and learning community. Each set of resources is selected to provide a high-level context for a topic, the current state and direction of the topic, and its bearing on higher education.

In addition to the 7 Things briefs, you may find other ELI resources useful in addressing teaching, learning, and technology issues at your institution. To learn more, please visit the ELI Resources page.  The University of Mississippi is a member of EDUCAUSE and ELI (EDUCAUSE Teaching and Learning Initiative).  If you are interested in obtaining access to the resources available to members, please contact Anne Klingen (annek@olemiss.edu) or UM-IT (it@olemiss.edu)
