Dr. Jennifer Snook (Sociology and Anthropology)
Dr. Jennifer “Skadi” Snook earned her Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder and is an Instructor in Sociology and Anthropology. She has been teaching sociology at the University of Mississippi since 2005, and there is nothing on the planet she would rather be doing.
Dr. Snook was nominated for her online course SOC 451, Special Topics in Sociology: Sociology of Religion. A student of Dr. Snook’s said she “is very dedicated to her students and even though this is an online class she always makes herself available for questions, concerns and discussions. She inserts technology into every lesson in such a way as to help even the most technologically challenged person navigate through her class. She is abreast of research for her class and presents us with clear and succinct information to enhance our learning experience. She is one of the best professors I have taken and I feel that both her class preparation and teaching ability is superior.”
Another student said, “I had never taken an online class before Dr. Snook’s online class. It was, perhaps, better than many of my traditional study courses in that she directed us in discussion, she gave us feedback regularly, and was ALWAYS respectful of differing or even irrelevant opinions.” Read the full story.
