This Fostering Engagement Learning Community provides a platform for instructors to share their expertise on making a learning environment engaging. The goal of the community is to allow participants to share strategies, best practices, and solutions on building student/student and faculty/student relationships.
Faculty participants will be paired together to observe one another’s courses and view how the course is organized. Focus on the student to student and student to instructor interaction within the course and provide feedback on how to enhance the course with engaging opportunities for both students and faculty.
This learning community requires a 3-week commitment that will include an initial meet and greet, pairing of participants, 2-week observation, and the last week to share feedback. The participants will meet asynchronous online on a chosen platform (i.e. Blackboard discussion board, Slack) to have open discussions on their findings and suggestions. The last session will be all participants discussing strategies learned, best practices, and solutions that will be used in their courses.
