David Holben: Interactive Learning Videos

Use of Interactive Learning-Videos to Enhance Online Components of Nutrition Courses

Dr. David Holben

Dr. David Holben, Professor of Nutrition & Hospitality Management, incorporated a set of 15 “Nutrition Virtual Visit” interactive learning-videos in his NMH 311 – Nutrition online course. Students “Tour the Topic” within each module, using the interactive feature as a “Roadmap” or “Guide” to engage the student during the video and to gauge their understanding of the topic. Interactive learning-video scores are utilized to measure student learning, and student satisfaction surveys are utilized to assess the videos for continuous improvement of the course.
